Week 26

13 Dec 2021

Holaaaaaa
This week, we robbed some kids 😄👍. Not really….well kinda. So this week we had two lessons with Maricela and her two daughters who are twins, Jenny and Jessica. They’re 12 years old. Every time we went over they had games set up for us to play. Tuesday we played a memory game and Thursday we played bingo. These were games they made for their health class, so it all had to do with Covid lol. When we played with them, they grabbed their phone and started recording us and made us state our names. Keep in mind it was also dark outside so the light was blinding and felt like an interrogation 😎. But anyways, on Thursday when we were playing bingo, they wanted to gamble. They both put in 10 pesos….so we did too. We played a few rounds and walked away with 40 pesos 😤. We didn’t actually end up taking it (yes we did…we’re bringing it back next time to use it to gamble some more). Other than the games, the lessons were pretty good too!
On Thursday as we were walking to a lesson, some kids that were playing basketball called us over to play. We had a few minutes to spare, so we went over. We held nothing back. I think I dunked like several times maybe probably idk. No, but it was pretty fun, and we went to our lesson soaked in sweat after.
Friday, we had a ward activity about the plan of salvation. (God’s plan for us that answers where we came from, why we’re here, and where we’ll go after this life). It was so awesome. Larissa, the 14 year old who had her baptism last week spoke and directed part of the activity. It was super cool to see her active in the church.
Sunday was awesome. Josebeth (the awesomest 13 year old ever) made me another bracelet and gave me the coolest picture ever (check photos). It was also Monica’s 15th birthday today. We had a surprise party for her at our bishop’s house. The food was great, and we all got to talk together.
Another great week here in Salina Cruz!
