Helllloooo! Another good week
This past Thursday we started morning workouts with all the missionaries in our mission via Zoom. These were exactly like the workouts I did in the mtc, and they kicked by butt, but guys please don’t worry, I made sure not to sit down so I wouldn’t get sore (only some will get that joke).
On Friday, we taught our friend Siilvia. She wanted to read the Bible with us. She didn’t know exactly what she wanted to read, so my comp listed off a few Bible stories to see if any of those would be of her interest. Then I asked if she wanted to learn more about the love of our Heavenly Father. She said yes!
This was such a great lesson. When we have a lesson to read the scriptures with someone, it’s always a great experience. We never know what they’re going to want to study about, so every time it’s something new, and during the scriptures study, we really have to rely on the Spirit to guide us and help us in the moment.
She has such a strong testimony of the love of God in her life, prayer and faith. I felt so special to hear some of the things she shared with us.
After the lesson my comp and I went to one of our favorite tacos spots, and I wanted to try something new. I wanted to try something new, so I ordered one order of “gringas”, which is three flour tortillas filled with el pastor. And one order of “que me ves”. The lady looked at me and asked me, “you want both?”. I should have said no. I didn’t realize how much it would be. “Que me ves” is literally filled with every type of meat they have and then they give you like 20 small tortillas. Of course I ate it all, how could I not? But if you see one of the pics, you can tell I was struggling .
Okay now to the best part of the week. GENERAL CONFERENCE! This weekend we had our general conference, which we have every 6 months. We get to hear from our church leaders, apostles, and our amazing prophet. Without a doubt in my mind, I know that these are all inspired men and women. Here’s the link to one of the sessions https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2021/10/saturday-morning-session?lang=eng
My favorite talk was by Bradley R. Wilcox. This guy is great. He’s so funny and always has such powerful talks. I’m pretty sure it was his first time talking in general conference, but he has many other great talks that I’ve watched.
“Worthiness IS NOT flawlessness””We aren’t just walking TO Christ and Heavenly Father, we are walking WITH them!”
I think that’s what was said
What a great general conference experience! To make it even better, I received a conference package from my parents, and got to make some yummy buffalo chicken dip.
