Hola Todos!
This week was filled with excitement!
On Saturday, Mohamed (an awesome person I helped teach with the Sister Missionaries in my Church), got Baptized! (Baptism is a covenant, or a promise, that you make with God! When you get baptized, you promise to serve Him and follow His commandments the best you possibly can.) It was great to be able to attend his Baptism. It was such a calm and wonderful experience filled with lovely musical numbers and talks. The next day I had the opportunity to participate in his Confirmation (a confirmation is when a person is confirmed a member of the Church and receives the gift of the Holy Ghost after being baptized).
This weekend we also had family over! We got to watch a great fire work display. I’ll show a video.
I love the scripture from the Book of Mormon (As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe in the Bible like all Christians do. We believe that this (the Book of Mormon) is another testament of Jesus Christ, and is a companion to the Bible. Both Scripture!) , Ether 2:12 (click here) it talks about how the United states is a free and choice land. Because of this, we have the blessing to all worship and practice our religions freely.
Okay, now this week was full of pranks!! The first one was planned by Elder Daniels and Hermana Alba (one of our teachers). Friday night, Elder Daniels told us in our group chat that Hermana Alba said we were getting a new teacher to replace her. We were all confused and asked why, but he said he didn’t know. Well this went on until Monday (we didn’t have classes Saturday or Sunday). It was so convincing because Hermana Alba left the group chat that we had with her (she usually sends us our assignments in this chat). Once we joined our class that day, Hermana Alba and Elder Daniels got us hahaha. They were joking the entire time. Now that I’m reading this, it doesn’t sound all that funny, I guess you just had to be there.
I even wrote in my journal about how we were getting a new teacher and I was upset and everything haha.
The second one was funny too. When we joined our first class of the day, all the Sister Missionaries had their cameras turned off. Once class began, Sister Steele did a count down and they all turned on their cameras…and they were all wearing white button up shirts with ties. Wholesome fun times.
Also this week, we got an assignment to choose a Mexican food, find the ingredients in Spanish, and record ourselves making it! This was so much fun. I’ll attach my video so you guys can watch it, and let me know what you think hahaha. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN, I HOPE YOU LIKE IT
Adios!
